Sobre a obra “Entender” :

“A alma guarda o que a mente tenta esquecer” (Racionais Mc’s)

Faz parte da sua primeira exposição individual,  onde Pegge apresenta 13 obras, todas pintadas à óleo usando como referência fotografias da família, artistas, auto-retrato, sentimento e cotidiano.  O contraste entre luz e sombra é muito presente em seu trabalho, dando a impressão de Flash, como o registro do presente. Perdurando e ressignificando, de modo que o instante logo some em meio a tantos outros que surgem.

Sobre o artista “Pegge”:

Artista plástico com foco nas vivencias urbanas do jovem negro periférico de São Paulo, pinta seus sentimentos mediante a cidade e suas relações humanas, colocando a figura do negro(a) em destaque nas suas obras . Criado sem pai, quando criança se auto- intitulava !”mecânico de desenhos”, pois deitava no chão e rabiscava em baixo das cadeiras de casa.

Passou sua infância e adolescência fazendo centenas de desenhos e jogando quase todos fora. Aos 12 anos Pegge perdeu parcialmente a visão, tudo que via eram rostos embaçados.  Olhou pra dentro, buscou a cura e agora nitidamente enxerga o mundo além dos horizontes.

Em uma tela reutilizada e tintas de criança, Pegge pintou seu primeiro quadro em Fevereiro de 2018. Em pouco mais de um ano já produziu mais de 60 pinturas. Assina todos seus trabalhos como Lo-Fi, tipo de produção musical de baixo custo usada antigamente onde a filosofia era “o melhor momento é o agora”.

“The soul keeps what the mind tries to forget” (Racionais Mc’s)

It is part of his first solo exhibition, where Pegge presents 13 works, all painted in oil, using family photographs, artists, automatic portrait, feeling and everyday life as a reference. The contrast between light and shadow is very present in his work, giving the impression of Flash, as the record of the gift. Losing and re-signifying, so that or soon some among the many others that appear.

About the artist “Pegge”:

Plastic artist focusing on the urban experiences of the young black peripheral from São Paulo, his feelings using the city and his human relations, showing the figure of the black man highlighted in his works. Raised without a father, as a child he called himself! “Drawing mechanic”, because there was none on the floor and he scribbled under the chairs at home.

Spend your childhood and adolescence drawing pictures and playing almost every forum. At 12, Pegge lost his sight, everything he saw blurred. He looked inside, sought healing and now clearly sees the world beyond horizons.

On a reused canvas and children’s paints, take your first painting in February 2018. In just over a year we have already produced more than 60 paintings. He signs all of his works as Lo-Fi, a type of low-cost music production used in the past where the era of philosophy “the best time is now”.
